First Impressions
The purpose of this workshop is to outline the importance of first impressions. The students will learn that first impressions, whether in person or over the phone, often influence the attitudes of superiors, colleagues, and clients. Negative impressions are difficult to overcome. One must lay a foundation for a long lasting relationship by properly conducting themselves in the early stages of a relationship.
The Power of Active Voice
The purpose of this workshop is to teach the appropriate usage of active and passive voice. Students will learn to apply this knowledge to become more effective communicators.
Business E-mail Etiquette
The purpose of this workshop is to teach students acceptable business e-mail practices so that common mistakes will be avoided. Students will learn proper usage, employ proper protocol, and become aware of standard business policies regarding e-mail in the work place.
Professional E-mail Composition
The purpose of this workshop is to teach critical writing skills for professional e-mail correspondence. Students will learn the importance of error checking and the art of word-smithing to assure that the proper message and emotions are being communicated in the most efficient manner.
Behaviors for Business
The purpose of this workshop is to teach students how to conduct themselves at networking events, seminars, training events and other professional gatherings. The students will learn the value of networking and understand its important implications in building a successful career.
Professional Body Language
The purpose of this workshop is to teach students to be aware of what they are saying with their body language and how to use this knowledge to communicate purposefully.
Work Place Conduct
The purpose of this workshop is to teach students the difference between appropriate and inappropriate work place behaviors. Students will learn the importance of their conduct in the work place and how it affects them personally and the performance of their team as a whole.
Business Apparrel
The purpose of this workshop is to teach students what is appropriate and inappropriate dress for the work place. Because “business casual” is common, a majority of the workshop will be focused on how to dress to meet these requirements. The students will learn from a company’s view point why dress codes are often necessary.
Interviewing Skills
The purpose of this workshop is to teach students how to physically posture themselves in an interview and answer some of the most common interview questions. Students will learn how to introduce themselves, how to sit, what to do with their hands and facial expressions, and how to exit the interview.
Resumes and Cover Letters
The purpose of this workshop is to teach the latest techniques in resume writing. The students will practice by writing their own resumes and by developing templates for cover letters and thank you letters. The coaching process will include critiquing and assisting in the process. Students should come prepared with previous work history, company names, address, phone numbers, etc.
Composure Under Pressure
The purpose of this workshop is to illustrate how pressure often triggers our defenses. Students will identify their natural reactions to pressure and learn betters ways to respond to these feelings. They will become more aware of how their physical demeanor will reflect their attitude.
Communication Pitfalls
The purpose of this workshop is to make students aware of the five most common communication pitfalls so that unnecessary consequences can be avoided.
Assertive Language Skills
The purpose of this workshop is to develop critical language skills as it relates to communication in the work place. Students will learn how to choose the correct words and phrases along with the appropriate voice inflections to come across as assertive rather than aggressive or passive.
Emotional Persuasion
The purpose of this workshop is to teach students the four emotional levers behind every conversation and the difference between 'emotional reaction’ and ‘emotional response’. Students will practice using this knowledge to manage the emotional tone of a conversation.
Interactive Listening
The purpose of this workshop is to illustrate how often we misinterpret and make inaccurate assumptions while listening. Students will learn listening techniques that will improve the two way communication process.
The Power of Teamwork
The purpose of this workshop is to demonstrate how communicating with one another can greatly enhance the end result of a project. The students will learn that a collaborative effort often shortens the time cycle, reduces the errors by covering more angles, and produces a better product in the end.
Cyber Space Impressions
The purpose of this workshop is to illustrate how important it is to be aware of one’s on-line presence. Students will learn how to protect their own professional image by managing their on-line content; such as photographs and profiles. They will learn the meaning of self branding and why employers often search these sites before making hiring decisions.
My Personality Type
The purpose of this workshop is to enable students to identify their core strengths and weaknesses by understanding their own personalities. Students will learn how to use this knowledge to improve their professional and interpersonal skills.
Your Personality Type
The purpose of this workshop is to learn to identify the personality types in others. Students will learn to adapt their communication styles based on the personality types of others to build a faster rapport and strengthen relationships.
The Power of Bargaining
The purpose of this workshop is to teach basic negotiation skills. Students will learn eight powerful, but simple guidelines that will help them be able to maintain a confident position in any business related or personal conversation.
Time Management
The purpose of this workshop is to provide guidelines in setting priorities, managing time, and managing schedule related conflicts. Students will learn the importance prioritizing commitments and weighing the outcomes of their decisions.
Goal Setting
The purpose of this workshop is to teach goal setting as a life skill. Students will consider their personal life, professional life, educational desires, and family as they set short term, mid-term, and long term goals.
